BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 9.0 Error -2005
Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 Server running BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 9.0. I have been running backups on this server for three years and never had a problem until one day when I checked the backup from the previous night and received the following error:
One or more of the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Engines is stopped. You may want to perform Device Configuration prior to starting the engines. Would you like to start the engines now?
The database engine is the one that is stopped. I selected Yes on a daily basis and the backups would run at night. Not knowing why this all of a sudden happened, I went ahead and rebooted the Windows 2000 Server. After the reboot of the server, the backups would not run at all because of the following error:
Unable to login to database engine. (DATABASE=CASDB, EC=-2005)
Error Code -2005 = Server Unavailable (i.e. doesn't exist).
Now, I am able to run backups nightly by starting the database engine, but would like to find a fix so that this does not have to be done on a daily basis.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
GilbertJ
