d145 causes Win 2000 to reboot

Every time I turn on the d145, my computer reboots. I can't imagine that this is the normal functioning of the driver.

Re: d145 causes Win 2000 to reboot

Dave:

I would install WIN2K SP3 and then re-test.

Download from www.windowsupdate.com OR http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp3/default.asp

Good luck!

Re: d145 causes Win 2000 to reboot

Sure, I just forgot. Two more things, though: Last night when I turned the printer on, the computer crashed again, and this time it gave me the blue screen "Stop: 0x00000044 Multiple IRP complete requests".

Second thing: Does the printer have a sleep mode? Last week it would go to sleep when unused. This week it isn't.

Re: d145 causes Win 2000 to reboot

It means a driver tried to run the IRP Completion routine more than once for
the same IRP (IO Request Packet). This usually indicates a bad driver.

Try to update a printer driver.

Dave:

Here is the link to the latest printer driver. It's huge so make sure it's newer than what you have before you spend time downloading it: http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/softwareList.jhtml;jsessionid=2PUVGBRG3D3CDQEXGR3UNZQ?reg=&cc=&prodId=hpofficeje64992&lc=en&softitem=Microsoft%20Windows%202000&sw_lang=en
