Pavillion 6730 - No Sound
OK, the drivers are now installed correctly, thaks to Jim, but I am still not getting the speaker icon in the system tray. What am I missing for this machine? It has an AC97 on board sound card and we are running WIN98SE. Thanks!

Re: Pavillion 6730 - No Sound
I think all you need to do is go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia and then check "Show Volume Control on the Taskbar" Then click on OK.

Re: Pavillion 6730 - No Sound
Hi Robert,
I'd do as Ron says if I were at your place. The missing Icon won't show up out of the blue but only once the volume control is activated.
On the other hand, a visit paid to the device manager souds like a very instructive check up of your system.
Alain.
