Windows XP Keeps going to 100% CPU Usage!

I have windows XP and for some reason it keeps going up to 100% CPU Usage in the task manager, this makes my computer really slow.
Is this a bug in XP and can it be fixed?

Please Help!

I had the same problem with my new pavilion 7965. It was caused by a process called "pctspk.exe" I found the file responsible for this (also called pctspk.exe) and renamed it. The problem has not reocurred and there appear to have been no other problems caused by the renaming. I suspected that pctspk.exe was something to do with the modem but disabling the modem in device manager had no effect.
