BL p-Class power on BL c-Class infrastructure - possible?
Hi All
I have a BL p-Class infrastructure including 3 server shelves, two fully redundant power shelves and scalable bus-bar.
As the BL p-Class platform is retired, I have started looking at the c-Class infrastructure.
My p-Class power system should have capacity for additional shelves.
My question is then: Is it possible to utilize the power system in a p-Class infrastructure on a c-Class shelf/infrastructure?
Specifications for the BL c-Class servers states "Redundant Power Supply" from "Rack-based or enclosure-based power".
Thanks a lot.
/Thomas

Re: BL p-Class power on BL c-Class infrastructure - possible?
I dont think its possible.
For more details you can have a look at
I could not upload the docs because they are huge.
1. Go to HP.com
2. Search for c7000+Power+Requirements
3. Look for pdf docs
"HP BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure Setup and Installation Guide"
and
"HP BladeSystem c-Class Site Planning Guide"
These docs describe in detail about Power requirements of a c7000 enclosure.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Deepak

Re: BL p-Class power on BL c-Class infrastructure - possible?
Hi Deepak
Thanks for the information.
I checked the two documents you mentioned, but could not find any information about the possibility to use the power infrastructure from my p-Class for a new c-Class shelf.
I guess this might mean I can not utilize what I already have.
