Hi everyone,
i have a blade server BL685c G7 with the system power led flashing green. Consulting the user guide, i've learned that it means that the blade is requesting more power.
What can i do? resetting the blade is enough? The other blades are fine, and the insight display is clear from alarms.
Same with the onboard admin, no alarms.
Thx for the help

Are the firmware levels the same on the servers including the iLO? Any chance you can update the firmware on the OA?

Re: BL685c G7 - system power led flashing green
Have you looked at the power and thermal settings in the Onboard Administrator? Check under the Power and Thermal and then click on Enclosure Power Summary.
Is there a power cap or power limit set?
How much power is shown as available?
Is any one server using an abnormal amount of power?
If you look under Power Management, what are the settings? AC Redundent, Power Supply Redundent, or Not Redundent.
Do you have all 6 power supplies installed?
There are many options and variables that can be manipulated for power

Re: BL685c G7 - system power led flashing green
Hi everyone, thanks for the replies. ill try to answer to your questions:
Enclosure information:
Enclosure Status OK
Active OA Status OK
Standby OA Status OK
Power Mode: AC Redundant
Diagnostic Information Device Identification Data OK
Redundancy OK
This is the situation in the Power and Thermal section:
Enclosure Ambient Temperature 33°C / 91.4°F
Thermal Subsystem Status OK
Power Subsystem Status OK
Power Mode AC Redundant
Present Power 1775 Watts AC
Power Limit 8755 Watts AC
This is the Enclosure Power Supply Allocation: It's right that only 2 power supply are actually working while the other 4 are in DPS mode?
Subsystem Status OK
Power Allocated 3020 Watts DC
Power Available 4180 Watts DC
Power Capacity 7200 Watts DC
Power Subsystem:
Power Subsystem Status: OK
Power Mode: AC Redundant
Redundancy State: Redundant
Bay - Model - Status - Input Status - Present Output* (Watts DC) - Output Capacity (Watts DC)
1 HP 2400W HE PSU OK OK 829 2400
2 HP 2400W HE PSU OK OK 0 (Dynamic Power Savings Mode) 2400
3 HP 2400W HE PSU OK OK 0 (Dynamic Power Savings Mode) 2400

5 HP 2400W HE PSU OK OK 0 (Dynamic Power Savings Mode) 2400
6 HP 2400W HE PSU OK OK 0 (Dynamic Power Savings Mode) 2400
Enclosure Total 1658 14400
Thermal Subsystem
Thermal Subsystem Status OK
Redundancy: Redundant
Fan Location Rule: 10 Fan Rule Rear View
Fan Model Status Fan Speed (% of max)
1 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
2 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
3 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
4 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
5 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
6 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
7 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
8 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
9 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
10 Active Cool 200 Fan OK 37%
It seems that is everything fine, no other blades are using too much power.
We never upgrade the firmware, unless something is wrong. if it works we don't upgrade.
I cannot understand why this blade power led is still flashing.

What ILO / OA versions do you have?
Hope this helps!

The power looks fine. You didn't show what other blades are in the enclosure. Are they G7 or are they older systems? Many of the newer blades including G7 and Gen8 require OA firmware upgrades.

SolutionYou need to update your firmware, it isn't optional in the blade environment; this should be done at a minimum once a year. Start with the servers, update their iLO and the chassis OA at the same time or one right after the other, if you have VC do that last. You should update to something within the last year. I am running 3.60 w/o any issues.
