c7000 OA doesn't identify a Cisco MDS9124

I got in one of our c7000 chassis two Cisco 9124e, one gets identified correctly, the other not, only shows unknown.

Anyone have knowledge how the OA identifies the switches? Switching between the two OA's makes no difference and I don't really want to reboot the second Cisco MDS9124.

So I have tried a few more things. Reload on the Cisco MDS9124, no change. Switched active OA, no change. Reseted both OA via CLI, so it doesn't do a failover, no change. Turned power off for the MDS9124 via OA, no change.

Besides physical removing the switch or the OAs, I don't know what else to do.

Hi Ulf,
Sad to say, you may be forced to do what appears to be the bladesystem "cure-all",

Pull the 9124, and reinsert it!

No guarantees, but it does seem to fix most things.

Sorry

Dave.

Re: c7000 OA doesn't identify a Cisco MDS9124

Hi Ulf

There is a known bug in OA firmware 2.60,
OA status for MDS9124 is "Device not supported by Hewlett-Packard",
and I have been waiting 6 months for a new version of OA firmware !
OA firmware version 3.00 was released yesterday and this problem is now solved according to the fix list.
But I have not tested this yet.

3.00 did not fix it either. Device still shows as unknown. Time to call HP back again.
