Hello All,
We need to create a server profile on the VC (with VC assigned addressing). But when we try to create the profile, the error message #1 appears on the first screen.
When we continue to create the profile with server factory default, the error message #2 appears. The screen shots are also attached.
But the external-manager is not available if you see from the command line output.
Here are the details:
Product Name: HP Virtual Connect Manager
Firmware Version: 2.10
Firmware Date: 2009-04-17T03:54:28Z
Error messages:
1. Warning! The VC Domain profiles are externally controlled. MAC & WWN addresses have been overridden with Server Factory Defaults.
2. The VCM GUI is under the control of external manager, hence profile can not be created.
Some Command line outputs:
->show external-manager
No external manager exists
->show domain

->add profile Linuxblade
ERROR: Operation not allowed : Current MAC and WWN pool settings does not allow
creation of profiles
Also If we add the network or storage address, it shows the following error message :
->add enet-connection LinuxBlade AddressType=Vc-Defined
ERROR: Invalid property value (AddressType) : Valid values include:
Factory-Default,User-Defined
->add fc-connection LinuxBlade Fabric=SAN_3 AddressType=Vc-Defined
ERROR: Invalid property value (AddressType) : Valid values include:

Is there anything wrong in the configuration we did?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Jayaprakash S

Solution
Is there a VCEM (Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager) in use ? If yes, You can't do configuration changes from VCM. You have to do it from VCEM.
