Hello, I'm operating a BL870c Integrity blade within a C7000 BladeSystem enclosure. Currently the blade appears to turn on, but does not display any EFI or operating system prompts in the live console. The only potential issue being stated is "MEM_ERR_LOG_FAILED_TO_CLEAR", which is it's last log. I haven't found anything about how I might deal with this error, if anyone knows anything useful I'd love some assistance.

Re: Can't Boot
Hello,
May be I am getting this incorrect, but could you login to the server's iLO and see if there are any more specific error messages?
Regards,

Re: Can't Boot
@TVVJ The iLO did not contain more specific errors, I also went through the OA logs and nothing appears to be out of the ordinary. Besides the system logs, forward progress and OA logs is there anything I should check to glean more information on this issue?

Re: Can't Boot
Hi,
Was there any changes to the system like memory addition etc? Can you share the forward progress (dump format) and "df -all -nc" output from MP?.
Also perform a efuse reset (if system is down and not accessble) and check livelogs/forward progress logs for any errors?
OA cli > reset server <bay number> (will take few mins to show back and then power on and validate boot progress in livelogs).
Thanks.

Re: Can't Boot
Hi @jsm6 ,
I only recently got it and installed 8 GB of RAM and a single Itanium processor. I performed the E-Fuse reset, it does not appear to fix the issue. I get this from the FRU dump:

Re: Can't Boot
Hi,
The memory loading looks fine, however the installed cpu shows different than in support list.
Processor shows " Product Name : MTV_A1_1612 SC" which is Montvale 1.6Ghz 12MB cache (AD392A - meant for rx2660 server model).
However, BL870c supports below processors (no 12MB cache processors)
HP BL870c CPU 1.42GHz/12MB 533FSB No DBS (9120N) AD394-2101C
HP BL870c CPU 1.60GHz/18MB 533FSB DBS (9140N) AH255-2101C
HP BL870c CPU 1.60GHz/24MB 533FSB DBS (9150N) AH320-2101C
Ref : https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04140528
PS : Not saying that wrong cpu is installed, but need log review before concluding it.
Has this server ever reached EFI shell since installation?
We would need to review complete SL logs to understand the status and where the server stops.
I would suggest to open a Support case with HPE (If server is in contract), so that we can assist further.
Thanks.

Re: Can't Boot
Sadly the system is not under contract currently, so I am unable to do anything with regards to that. However, I have replaced the processor with one of the listed compatible microprocessors, and it now gets a new error!
Log Entry 9: 26 Aug 2010 10:58:38

I'm investigating the power system currently, but I'm unsure of why it would be failing due to the current provided power being more than enough as there is currently 1178 watts extra. Is there any specific routes I should take debugging the exact cause of these issues? I might see about adding yet *another* powersupply, but I'd rather not request another powersupply without some more information on the issue.
Thank you

SolutionHi,
The error points to 1.2V fault on SYS BD.
Try to reseat all the connectors on SYS BD (incuding memory mezzanine) and power ON again.
If still fails with same error - the SYS BD must be faulty and needs replacement.
Thanks.
