compatability issue
is it possible to use a BL660C Gen 8 (742361-001) in a C7000 Gen 2 (412152-B22)? what are the implications if you can't?

Re: compatability issue
Hello,
The section "Product features > Form factor" of the HPE ProLiant BL660c Gen8 Server Blade - Product Information Reference provides the following information:
"HP ProLiant BL660c Gen8 is a single-wide, full-height server blade that plugs into the HP BladeSystem c3000 and c7000 enclosures."
In addition, please refer to section 'Resolution' in the document titled "HPE ProLiant Server Blades - Compatibility with HPE BladeSystem c7000 and c3000 Enclosures and Firmware". I am pasting the following sentence verbatim from therein:
"HPE ProLiant server blades will operate in any HPE BladeSystem c3000 or c7000 enclosure (product numbers 4xxxxx-xxx, 5xxxxx-xxx, 6xxxxx-xxx, and 7xxxxx-xxx) with any HPE BladeSystem Onboard Administrators module."
So, the above show that the blade server in question should work fine in the mentioned HPE BladeSystem C7000 Gen 2 enclosure.
This being said, you will need to maintain the firmware of the server's BIOS, Onboard Administrator (OA) firmware and Virtual Connect (VC) firmware, if any VC is installed, in the compatible firmware as mentioned in Table 1: Firmware Compatibility Matrix found in the latter document mentioned above.
Regards,
