DAC cable for FEX and Nexus 5000
Pierre had a customer cable question:
**************
I have a customer that use HP BLc Cisco B22HP Fabric Ext Module with Nexus 5000, he bought DAC cable (487654-001) 1 meter. He is experiencing problem with 30 % of the cables, he bought 100 of them.
He did start to buy cisco cable and have not issues, is there a known issue with HP cables?

What sort of problems is your customer experiencing with the cables?
The part number looks like a “spare part” type of part number. The equivalent HP “Cisco” cables that I have are as follows:
HP C-Series SFP+ to SFP+ Copper 3.0m Direct Attach Cable - AP784A
HP C-Series SFP+ to SFP+ Copper 5.0m Direct Attach Cable - AP785A
These are listed as certified on the Cisco Nexus 2K/5K certification Matrix.
The Cisco part number for the DAC cables is SFP-H10GB-CU3M
There are certain minimum firmware versions that Cisco require for these cables as per the weblink above. Perhaps your customer has old firmware on their Cisco switches?
