Hi All,
Can anyone please asssit me here to shed some light as to why my BIOS update using HP SPP 2014.09 is failing ?
See the below screenshot:
Therefore the ROM Version of th Blade is still on A19 01/29/2011 not updated to the 2014 version.
see below after the update:
Am I missing something here or is there any trick to continue updating the BIOS with the latest firmware ?

SolutionMy browser redirects this hit to german language, sorry
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02994661
maybe you get it in another language.
Sounds like a solution. - update CPLD-Code to ersion 15 first, then update the BIOS.
You need to update using this files first
Linux-Smart Component:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-linux-fw/p1156006652/v71524
Windows-Smart Component:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-windows-fw/p919033972/v71525
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Fail to update BL 465c G7 BIOS using offline HP SPP 2014.09 media through iLO ?
Torsten,
Thank you for the reply. I couldn't get back to reply to this thread last week due to the browser problem I'm having.
Anyway, the iLO 3 firmware on the affected server is 1.80 Jul 11 2014 while the Advisories you suggest is suggesting me http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02994661 to upgrade it into v 1.20 ?

Re: Fail to update BL 465c G7 BIOS using offline HP SPP 2014.09 media through iLO ?
I've spent hours trying to piece together the wreck that is HP's firmware update repository, before finally managing to find a working solution. To save time for people in the future who come here from google, here's how to fix this:
- You'll have to coldboot your blade (as in, physically pull it out of the chassis. Sorry)
- Download this ISO - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/saeutgczazascqm/AADYERk3qaVUiA-1W9VomFBja?dl=0 - That link was made by a user in this thread. Make sure you log in and give him Kudos. /t5/HPE-BladeSystem/Error-whilst-upgrading-to-the-lastest-BIOS-for-a-BL465c-G7/m-p/6699831#M19840 - if it ever vanishes, find me on twitter or gmail or anything (I'm xrobau everywhere) and ask me for it again.
- Boot from that ISO. It will boot and look like this: http://imgur.com/LaogIIh
- Select yes. Let it flash.
- You will get kicked out of ILO. I immediately reconnected without a problem.
- You'll then see this. Do what it says. http://imgur.com/a/mrav3 (Note the ISO does *not* shut the machine down, you'll have to do that manually - shut it down, and then pull the blade)
- Re-run the SPP and everything will work
Note that I am using the SPP with the exact filename of SPP2015100.2015_0921.6.iso to do this, and it works.
