HP is expanding its Networking Portfolio
On Wednesday, HP announced it was expanding its networking portfolio with new HP ProCurve switch products and highlighted the new HP ProCurve 6120 series for the HP BladeSystem infrastructure. HP also announced the new Virtual Connect 8Gb 20-Port Fibre Channel module - as well as a firmware upgrade. The new 8Gb module is being offered at the same cost as it's 4Gb predecessor, but offers 8Gb bandwidth for virtualization and other high bandwidth applications. The Virtual Connect firmware upgrade offers 3 benefits: - it delivers support for 128 VLANs per uplink set - supports SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 traps used by wide number of management tools - Flex-10 users can dynamically set or change FlexNIC link status and bandwidth without rebooting or power cycling the server Read more about the new offerings in the press release at: http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press/2009/090916xa.html
