Installing linux red hat 4 on hpbl460c server
when i run the linux installation cd on the blade server it comes up with an error saying
"An error has occured - no calid devices were found on which to create new file systems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.
When i spoke to HP they said that i had t run the linux cd before i ran the HP smartstart

Re: Installing linux red hat 4 on hpbl460c server
Assuming that you have hard drives installed in the BL460c, perhaps you have not configured the Smart Array controller.
Connect to the BL460c KVM or iLO console, and reboot the server. During POST, you will see a prompt to press F8 to configure the Smart Array. That will run the RAID configuration utility, and you can create a RAID volume and save your changes.
Then try installing Linux again.
