Migrating boot lun from BL25P to BL460C

Hello,

We're trying to move a boot Lun from a BL25P blade running a Qlogic 2300 series mezanine card to a BL460C blade. The BL460C blade has a QLA2400 series mezanine card. Has anyone successfully accomplished a similar migration?

Theory is the Boot LUN will have issues due to the QLA2300 driver revision when trying to boot on BL460C with QLA2400 series HBA.

I don't see any issues to do that, you will try boot from an external LUN. Just try configure the card in the BL460c, press F9 to start RBSU, select Boot Controller Order and select teh HBA as the controller 1 and disable the embedded boot controller.
Then Ctrl+Q to start the HBA BIOS, make sure the zoaning is allowing access from the HBA to the storage array.
- From the Select Host adapter menu, select the HBA you want to boot and press enter.
- From the Fast!UTIL Options menu, select Configuration Settings, and then press Enter.
- From the Configuration Settings menu, select Host Adapter Settings, and then press Enter.
- From the Host Adapter Settings menu, change Host Adapter BIOS to Enabled by pressing Enter.
- Press Esc to go back to the Configuration Settings menu.
- Select Selectable Boot Settings, and then press Enter.
- From the Selectable Boot Settings menu, enable the Selectable Boot option, move the cursor to Primary Boot Port Name, Lun, and then press Enter.
