Missing Information for some of Object Identifiers (OID) for c7000 blade system
Choong Keun had and SNMP question:
***************
Dear All,
I have a customer who want to retrieve system health information for every 5 seconds.
They want to use SNMP but they can’t get information with SNMP for below OID.
thermal status
blade status
fan speed
fan present power
interconnect status
power state
management ip
management url
We can see the information with Onboard Administrator (OA) COmmand Line Interface ( CL)I however.
But they don’t want to execute command CLI for every 5 sec.
Is there any way to get above information with SNMP or alternative way ?
Regards,
*********************
Monty responded:
******************
thermal status
cpqRackPowerEnclosureCondition includes overall status of enclosure including OA, power and thermal subsystem status
blade status
iLO SNMP reports status for each server blade
fan speed
no fan speed reported from OA SNMP – each fan status is reported as cpqRackCommonEnclosureFanCondition.x for each individual fan
fan present power
no fan power reported from OA SNMP
interconnect status
no interconnect status, power state, management IP or URL is available on OA SNMP
power state
management ip
management url

Choong Keun replied:
*****************
Do we have any SNMP trap guide for c7000 and BL460c blade server?
thermal status
cpqRackPowerEnclosureCondition => The customer just got OK with this OID.
Does OK means health STATUS is OK for OA, Power, and Thermal?
What if one of status is not OK?
blade status
How do I use iLO SNMP?
fan speed and power
The customer check cpqRackCommonEnclosureFanCondition.x but there is no value
Do we need to replace .x with the number (1 ~ 10)?

Monty replied:
******************
OA SNMP Traps are listed in a table in the OA 3.30 User Guide.
If OA Redundancy or Power or Thermal status Degraded – then the Enclosure Status is Degraded.
If Power or Thermal status is Failed – then Enclosure Status is Failed.
See the iLO User Guide section on Enabling SNMP alerts.
Yes – I placed an x to indicate that a number was required. 1 through 10 address the ten fan locations.
