Re: OA system type unknown in SIM and chassis not discovered
1) In SIM, GO to options->Protocol Settings->Global protocol settings-> (if https is already checked) , uncheck and check it back.
APPLY
2) Enable xml data in OA and check it.
Configure the OA SNMP page with HPSIM IP address.
In your browser type the following
http://
if this gives a xml reply(which is pretty leghty)
Re-identify the OA. It worked when we tried here. Can you please verify if this solves your problem?

Are you getting the XML data when you do this?

Re: OA system type unknown in SIM and chassis not discovered
The OAs that SIM properly discovers, it associates with a chassis and they show up as System Type - Management Processor, System Subtype - HP BladeSystem c-Class; Onboard Administrator, Product Model - BladeSystem c7000 Onboard Administrator, Hardware Description - HP Onboard Administrator.
System Subtype, Product Model and UUID fields not displayed in SIM for problem OAs. Product number 412152-B21 matches for good and bad OAs as does the protocols SIM is using to discover them. Only difference I see is the serial number sequence with some different internal coding causing the problem?

Re: OA system type unknown in SIM and chassis not discovered
From the CLI:
help set enclosure serial_number
SET ENCLOSURE SERIAL_NUMBER "
number. The serial number must be 10 characters in length. Acceptable characters
include alphanumeric, dash and underscores.

Re: OA system type unknown in SIM and chassis not discovered
Tried the reset anyways, no change.
