p-GbE2 interconnect firmware upgrade

Hello all,
I'm looking at upgrading the 1.1.3 firmware to 3.2.3 on the interconnects.
Through telnet using gtimg it errors on Image is too large for FLASH region.
Both image1 & 2 are currently 1.1.3.

Cheers for any help..

Re: p-GbE2 interconnect firmware upgrade

Hi,

If the switch is accessible try to connect through serial port and Update the firmware.

Below is the link for the User guide.

Re: p-GbE2 interconnect firmware upgrade

I've only had experience updating through the serial interface, the BBI(browser), and using the Upgrade tool, but here are some things I ran into:

1. Switch would not take firmware upgrade until the boot image was upgraded. Upgrade the boot image first.
2. No firmware upgrades had been done to the GbE2 since install, so the firmware version was very far behind. I had to upgrade to a lesser firmware version BEFORE upgrading to the newest version.

Mark:

OK this isn't fun but you have to do a multi-step upgrade to get to boot and fw version 3.2.3. I have attached a document that details the process but here are the steps:

1. Upgrade both the firmware and the boot image to version 2.2.0.

2. Reset the switch.

3. Upgrade the boot image to version 3.2.3.

4. Upgrade the firmware image to version
3.1.0.

5. Reset the switch.

6. Upgrade the firmware image to version 3.2.3.

Here are the bits:

Re: p-GbE2 interconnect firmware upgrade

And if you can take another look at the release notes/installation instructions etc for the 3.2.3 firmware see if it mentions having to be on a particular previous version first. If it does not, a defect needs to be filed - if nothing else via the feedback link which may be at the bottom of the page on the download page.

Cheers for that, it's exactly what I was looking for..
I looked through the readme's and couldn't find a mention of min firmware requirements.

Anyway thanks chaps..
