Use BIOS setting with VC Boot from SAN
Hi, just need to confirm something: When using this option on VC-FC Boot to SAN: "Use BIOS (default)—SAN boot settings are not configured by Virtual Connect Manager. BIOS settings are used." Want to make sure this is referring to System BIOS and not HBA BIOS? (QLogic BIOS Utility for example). Reason is, customers need to set certain paramaters inside QLogic BIOS, not sure if I have to use this setting or "Primary/Secondary" in this case? Thanks for any help, Shawn

Use BIOS setting with VC Boot from SAN
Ideally you would use the Primary and Secondary settings. With those settings, the VC Manager will configure the boot order in the System BIOS, and it will configure the necessary parameters in the HBA to enable booting from SAN. You shouldn't have to manually configure anything when using these settings -- just click apply and VC takes care of the rest. If you choose to set the "Use BIOS" setting, neither the System BIOS nor the HBA settings are configured and you will need to configure both manually. This is explained in the VC User Guide under the "Fiber Channel boot parameters" section. Thanks, Dave
