Virtual Connect 8GB FC module -- configuration problem.
We recently got a Virtual Connect 8GB FC module, and I'm trying to figure out how to configure it. The following is what I've tried so far -
* VC 1/10G-F Enet modules in Bays 1 & 2 of a C7000 enclosure.
* VC 8GB FC module in Bay 3.
* Latest VC firmware installed (2.10).
* Tried connecting to two different SAN switches (HP 8/20q, and Brocade 4GB c-Class SAN Switch). Checked NPIV is enabled on Brocade, but did not get any docs/pointers to enable NPIV on the HP 8/20q SAN switch.
* Tried with zoning enabled and disabled on the SAN switch.
* Target is MSA2012fc with one LUN - no SSP enabled.
The problem I'm facing is, as soon as I plug in the SFP+ module (oh...forgot to mention, I'm using is 8GB SW SFP+ which is HP branded. PN# 468508-001), the LED on that port starts blinking (Amber).
Any pointers are really appreciated.
Thanks,
-Santhosh

Re: Virtual Connect 8GB FC module -- configuration problem.
You might want to test with fixed 4Gb speed in VC SAN config. And remember because you have only one VC-FC module you can connect it only one switch.

Re: Virtual Connect 8GB FC module -- configuration problem.
It was the SFP+ module, after all...the one which I had was not supported. I tried a different one (AJ716A -- HP 8G SW B-series FC SFP+) and it worked...

Re: Virtual Connect 8GB FC module -- configuration problem.
I was using an unsupported SFP+ module.
