Middleware/Integration Broker support experiences

We're currently investigating a fairly large scale OM integration project requiring approximately 100 adapters. Our SI is recommending webMethods and Vitria running on clustered hp servers. I was wondering if this is an appropriate thread for the ITRC and if so does anyone has experience deploying and supporting these EAI vendors. Todate we've been using custom pt-to-pt connections/connectors and have avoided BPM.
