AT&T Voicemail notification

Recently AT&T Wireless has changed the way that they send voicemail notification to phones. They apparently do not use SMS messages anymore, but some form notification that triggers the "tape" voicemail icon built into phones. I am in Boston MA area.

Now, as a result, I cannot get any voicemail notifications with the wireless pack. If I put the sim back into my ATT phone, the notifications work fine.

I have the latest pack, firmware etc with a 3970 and 2.10

Does anyone have any ideas or help on this ?
