Bluetooth Network - A network cable is unplugged

Please need some help.
Getting error on my Bluetooth network in system tray that "A network Cable is unplugged"
Services - Bluetooth Service is started
Devices - Bluetooth by HP Working properly and driver updated
Devices - Bluetooth LAN Access Server Driver Working properly and driver updated
Bluetooth Configuration - Bluetooth by HP Device is working properly
Bluetooth Communications Port (COM8) Working properly

Setup:
NX7010
XP Pro SP2
Novell

If you have not paired your notebook with a Bluetooth LAN access point, having he icon state that the cable is unplugged is normal and correct. Same thing is true for WLAN devices that have not connected with a WLAN access point.

I have Bluetooth Communications Port (COM8)
Bluetooth Lan Access Server Driver
All drivers updated and working fine.

You need to buy a Bluetooth LAN access point and plug it into your ethernet router/hub. This access point will present itself as exposing the LAN Access profile... when your notebook pairs with it, then the LAN Access service will say that the media is connected or in other words that network cable is plugged in.

I have a bluetooth/wireless network enabled notebook and just want to connect to my cellphone. Thought no extra hardware was needed? Bluetooth was working a year ago and never used it but got a bluetooth cell and only now had a look at it again. This is when I noticed the error.
Cell is working fine a I can see other bluetooth enabled phones.

In Bluetooth you use service profiles to use the featues of other Bluetooth devices. It is closer to a bus like USB, then a network like ethernet or WLAN. You need to read the documentation of the phone and determine which Bluetooth profiles it supports... Like Sync or Dial Up Networking... and then pair the phone up with the notebook and enable that service profile and use it. I know this is not necessarily intuitive, but it is how the Bluetooth group architected their wireless solution.

I am not sure if you have solved your issue, but I can relate. I setup the driver on my laptop with no problem.. it still works great on the laptop. It's a different story on my desktop; the driver installed fine and worked fine until I rebooted and now I get the same message. The bluetooth applet will not appear in the sys-tray and a bluetooth network connection is x'ed out with message that a network cable is unplugged. I think it is related to some conflict with something in my startup. I am trying to discover the cause. I will let you know what I find. If you have any updates; let me know.
