NC6000 + Dlink DI-624 (SuperG)
Hello!
Are there any compatibility issues between the w400-wlan chipset in the HP-NC6000 and Dlink:s DI-624? DI-624 use something called "AirPlus XtremeG" and the w400 appears to be Atheros SuperAG. I'm able too hook my laptop to the gateway in both 108mbps and 54mbps but in reality there's no difference in speed.
My second question would be what performace I would expect since right now, with 54mbps speed I get about 1.8mb/s which in my book equals 14.5mbps... and is there anything I can do about this? I'm using all the latest drivers and firmwares.
Thanks,
Mathias.

Re: NC6000 + Dlink DI-624 (SuperG)
The super G is just a pre-release of the new version of N for wireless that has not come out yet. To use a super G card in a PC, you must have a super G router or AP. A super G card is compatible with most G's at 54 mbps.
Speeds vary on reception of your G signal. Some cards work better than others. I have suplimented my PC by adding a second wireless card and found it to be better than the one that comes built into the PC.
I have gotten my best signals when I got a wireless card, opened it up and added an external antenna.
G is the best on the market and the Airplus is a good one too.
Your best signal is usually within 20 feet of the source.
Changing the channel can boost performance too.
