network slowing down
Dear Compaq Specialists,
we own a Compaq Netelligent 2724 HUB, which we moved together with a proliant server and a HP laserjet. We integrated these items in a new network and encountered the following problem(s):
01. after a certain period (two weeks), 4 computers (PC) with a 10mb networkcard fail to connect to the network.
02. the network seems to become slower.
03. with Compaq Networking Management Software v2.2.2 rev A it is impossible to connect to the 2724 HUB and discover or change its configuration settings.
04. When using the CNMS, it discovers half the network: hub, server and printer from former network are all in green. The rest are unknown devices without any properties, (the should all be Generic PC). We also have two MAC's connected to the network.
the specs:
01. Installed software sp6102, sp6103, sp6106, sp6113 on win98
02. device: netelligent hub2724 (SN Y749BSJ10485)
03. network only uses TCP/IP and no domaincontroller
04. all switches on the back of the hub are 'on': SW DIST, UNM and HOST
I hope anyone can give me a solutions on howto get the HUB and CNMS at work properly,
Regards,
G van 't Slot
