Reformated drive and cannot find ethernet connection
I reformatted my computer to start fresh and now I cannot connect my DSL through the ethernet connection because there is no driver installed. My computer is a Evo Desktop D310v series that I bought complete with ethernet, cdrom, and monitor in a package. I hope someone can point me in the right direction so I can get my dsl hooked up and get back online soon. I am using my work computer right now just so I can try and resolve this problem.
Thank you in advance. Kathy

Re: Reformated drive and cannot find ethernet connection
Good Day:
You may wish to try the support& drivers heading on the HP website for the network drivers. I would down load the drivers to the machine you are using and burn to a CD. With this you should be able to get your network interface working.
As for yor DSL you may wish to use a inexpensive router (D-Link or Linksys) between the dsl modem and you PC. Just setup your router for PPoE and let it do the work. This offers a basic hardware firewall for your system.
Hope this helps.

Re: Reformated drive and cannot find ethernet connection
I assume you have XP Home edition?
The D310v uses a very common Intel Pro builtin NIC that I know that XP should recognize so I expect the problem is you need the Intel Chipset Install program so that Xp will know that it is Intel:
