xt6200 wireless problems
I'm facing an interesting problem, and would like to get more ideas on what else can I try.
I borrowed hp xt6200 computer running xp sp3. The computer has wireless Actiontec MINI card, which gets correctly recognized and all appropriate drivers from 2002 get installed correctly.
When trying to connect to public wireless network, the message says, there is no network in range and when I try to enter it manually, it says, something like "Can not make a network connection".
I have another computer right beside it, showing 8 wireless networks available.
Both computers have same settings, both run same services, both have installed the same software. Firewall is disabled!
The wireless PCMCIA in xt6200 was replaced by TWO different cards and NONE of them work on this computer. Cards get installed correctly but no network found message appears. I also tried USB wireless which works perfectly on many computers, but not on xt6200. Still no networks found. During that test I disabled all other wireless adapters. LAN works flawlessly.
Not to mention that during this testing, bios was flashed with no visible improvements.
Can you give me something else to chew on, I ran out of ideas.
Thanks.
