Firmware

Hello supp,

Can you tell me if there are any ways to create your own Support pack of firmware when using when using the applications in order to update firmware within packages to a set of versions?

I dont find any information on details around this anywhere.

thnx,

Re: Firmware

Hello MRyan1,

The HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management app uses a repository based on Bundles (Baseline) of Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) that are released and/or released+hotfix. While you may be familiar with these being delivered in a single ISO image working with past products, there are differences here with Compute Ops Management. With HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management, a subset of a specified baseline (only the firmware images required) are downloaded to the Computes under management and applied to keep them updated. The Bundles (Baselines) are contained within the GreenLake platform and are continually reviewed to ensure we deliver the best for our HPE customers.

You will be able to customize only which baselines are applied to which Computes or group of Computes under management. For instance one group may be baselined @ Hotfix 2021.10.4 + SPP 2021.10.0 (21 Apr 2022) while other groups of Computes have a different need and may be set to SPP 2022.03.0 (08 Apr 2022) *latest available.
Again as mentioned before the Bundles are contained within the GreenLake platform and are continually reviewed to ensure we deliver the best for our HPE customers.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you-
HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management Team

Re: Firmware

Hello Compute

Do you have info on how long a specified baseline is supported?
And what happens when a baseline is expired? Same as external?

Guidelines or experience on how often this is required to change for support?

Re: Firmware

Hello Phillipe,

First updating from one SPP to another is suitable when the SPP versions are within 12 months of each other. This means, if the newer SPP was released within 12 months of the currently installed SPP's release date, skipping intermediate releases is appropriate.

Here is a link to the HPE SPP Support Policy matrix:

Currently available to COM users are the following SPPs listed below.

As more information becomes available we will provide guidance.
If a baseline currently is use is expired, the user will be notified in the Compute Ops Management interface about supportabilty and changes required to select new baseline.

Thank you-
