Configuring sFlow on HPE FF 5700-32XGT switch
Hello,
I would like to ask for help.
I have 4 HPE FF 5700-32XGT switches in IRF stack and there is directly attached Flowmon sFlow collector on port XGE1/0/21.
VLAN interface 193 has address 10.1.193.254 and collector has 10.1.193.1.
I need to send sFlow packets from HP switches to collecotr.
I used theese commands:
sflow agent IP 10.1.193.x - is this addres same as addres of VLAN interface or it should be different?
sflow collctor 1 ip 10.1.193.1 port 3001 description Flowmon
on interface:
sflow counter interval 120
sflow couter collector 1
sflow sampling-mode random
sflow sampling-rate 1400
sflow flow collector 1
Is that all correct? Problem is, there is no incoming packets on collector, just a few broadcasts.
Is there any commend to show more about sFlow config? Is there any way to show what is happening on that interface in real-time? For what there is atribut Source address?
<SWCORE>display sflow
sFlow datagram version: 5
Global information:
Agent IP: 10.1.193.10(CLI)
Source address:
Collector information:
ID IP Port Aging Size VPN-instance Description
1 10.1.193.1 6343 N/A 1400 Flowmon
Port information:
Interface CID Interval(s) FID MaxHLen Rate Mode Status
XGE1/0/31 1 120 1 128 1400 Random Active
XGE2/0/31 1 120 1 128 1400 Random Active
XGE4/0/33 1 120 1 128 1400 Random Active
Is there someone who has experience with sFlow configuring? I can tell you more about switch configuration via email if you decide to help me. I need your help, please :( .

Re: Configuring sFlow on HPE FF 5700-32XGT switch
Hello, Good day!
Can you check following points.
1) Connectivity between device and collector?
2) Any firewall blocking the port..
Troubleshooting sFlow configuration The remote sFlow collector cannot receive sFlow packets Symptom
The remote sFlow collector cannot receive sFlow packets.
Analysis
- The sFlow collector is not specified.
- sFlow is not configured on the interface.
- The IP address of the sFlow collector specified on the sFlow agent is different from that of the remote sFlow collector.
- No IP address is configured for the Layer 3 interface that sends sFlow packets, or the IP address is configured, but the UDP datagrams with the IP address being the source cannot reach the sFlow collector.
- The physical link between the device and the sFlow collector fails.
- The sFlow collector is bound to a non-existent VPN.
Solution
- Check that sFlow is correctly configured by using display sflow.
- Check that a correct IP address is configured for the device to communicate with the sFlow collector.
- Check that the physical link between the device and the sFlow collector is up.
- Check that the bound VPN already exists.
If you still face the issue please raise a case with support.
Thanks!
