HP 5130 JG937A - PoE Issue

I have an access switch HP 5130 (JG937A) for use GrandStream SIP Phones. In the log have an alert: Trap <pethPsePortOnOffNotification>: PSE 4, IfIndex 30, Detection Status 3. Some phones continuously restart.

Any recommendation?

Howdy,

I would update the 5130ei switches to the latest software image and the latest PoE firmware image. If you still have issues after that it is time for a chat with your friendly support tech.

The early 5130 software had some issues coping with PoE devices that asked for power beyond their device class although I understand that issue to have been fixed since.

Have a look at this thread for additional details, discussion and an upgrade procedure.

Thanks

Ian

Hope that helps - please click "Thumbs up" for Kudos if it does

There's a known problem with Siemens phones requesting 3w of power, then trying to draw almost 4w and the switch current limits and kills the phone. It's possible you're experiencing a similar issue. It's worth making sure everything is on the latest firmware, including the phones.

Re: HP 5130 JG937A - PoE Issue

Hi Ian,

I use a new switch HP 5130 (JG937A) and upgrade switch image from r3109p05 to r3113p05, the PoE PSE Version is: 145, but still I receive the same alert "Trap alert <pethPsePortOnOff Notification>: PHASE 4 IfIndex 46, Detection Status 3".

Any comments?
