HP a5820x how to startup ?

Hello everybody,

I got this switch yesterday and I have minimal time to configure it.

I started by using console BUT it seems to be in somekind of ''RMON'' mode and I cant get it to load the familiar CLI mode!

Please help! Also - am trying to find a way to use management interface but I guess first it must load!

All I get is console with limited commands :(

I managed to add IP on MGNT interface, add user, enable http and enter the GUI interface.

Guys, there is a serious lack of a basic startup manual on this.

Is there somewhere some guide that has the basic commands in order to start configuring the switch?

Did you try typing sys   at the prompt?  It should change from <HP> to [HP].  In system mode you can configure whatever you need on the switch.

Also, are you aware that ?  will show you what token is expected next?  At the command prompt it will show you a list of commands in that mode.  In the middle of a command it will show you what is expected next.  Pressing the <TAB>  key will do command completion too.
