[HP E4800] Configuring routing header type for an IPv6 ACL rule?
Hi,
according to "HP A5500EI-CMW520-R2220 Release Notes Software Feature Changes" there´s a new feature which was already enabled with firmware R2210:
Configuring routing header type for an IPv6 ACL rule
On page 273 it is said:
"New feature: Configuring routing header type for an IPv6 ACL rule Configuring routing header type for an IPv6 ACL For more information about configuring routing header type for an IPv6 rule, see "ACL configuration" in "HP A5500 EI / A5500 SI Switch Series ACL and QoS Configuration Guide-Release 2210"
I actually tried to apply those ACLs with the attached config:
acl ipv6 number 3000 rule 0 deny ipv6 routing acl ipv6 number 3001
rule 0 deny icmpv6 routing acl ipv6 number 3002
rule 0 deny ipv6 routing type 137
interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/1
packet-filteripv6 3000 inbound result: %Apr 26 12:10:09:263 2000 4800G FILTER/5/FLT_SET_POLICY_NOTSUPPORT_FAIL: Failed to apply the filter policy to or refresh the filter policy 3000 rule 0 on interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1.Not supported.
interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/2 packet-filter ipv6 3001 inbound result: %Apr 26 12:12:58:382 2000 4800G FILTER/5/FLT_SET_POLICY_NOTSUPPORT_FAIL: Failed to apply the filter policy to or refresh the filter policy 3001 rule 0 on interface GigabitEthernet1/0/2.Not supported.
interface GigabitEthernet 1/0/3 packet-filter ipv6 3002 inbound result: %Apr 26 13:27:37:815 2000 4800G FILTER/5/FLT_SET_POLICY_NOTSUPPORT_FAIL: Failed to apply the filter policy to or refresh the filter policy 3002 rule 0 on interface GigabitEthernet1/0/3.Not supported.
As we all know, the hardware of 3Com 4800G == HP E4800 == H3C S5500-EI == HP A5500-EI, as it is said within the release notes:
Before HP A5500EI family, there were another 2 product families, i.e 3Com 4800G and H3C S5500EI, shipped to market. All of these three product families have same hardware and software specification except brand. The product matrix is as following. In brief, the HP A5500EI will be the representation to all of them in subsequent document.
Changing branding is needed of you want to to build an IRF stack and want to mix all of these switches.
If you do a "brand hp" on a 3Com 4800G, after a reboot it will be shown as "HP A5500-EI" afterwards, if you do a "brand H3C", it will say it´s a "H3C S5500-EI".
Needless to say that changing the brand name doesn´t help getting that IPv6 applied. So, can anyone help me with this issue?

Re: [HP E4800] Configuring routing header type for an IPv6 ACL rule?
I think It only works with Layer3 interface. Can't test it at the moment, because my 5500 is on a customer test site.
But what's the version R2220? Where to get it?
