Mass 4250T failures?

We've been running 4250's in our school district for about six years with minimal problems. In the last month and a half we have had more than ten switches fail, all in different buildings and different network closets. Like they are on a self destruct schedule. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this...

Re: Mass 4250T failures?

Are the switches rebooting or just loosing connectivity? Did you found something in the logs?

Did you know if some new feature was implemented on the switches, or in the environment itself, like wireless LAN, new servers, IP cameras...?

Maybe the switches are facing an overhead with MAC tables, or something like this. If the problem is with MAC tables, try to reduce the aging timer of the ARP table.

Hope it helps.

I should have been more clear in my post. These switches are actually just dying. No power, nothing. Just failing and never coming back. All of them needed to be RMA'd.

Wow...maybe there's a problem in the electrical circuit that is damaging the switches, did you already checked it? It's really a weird behavior...
