Unable to reset HP A5500 [JG311A] switch to stand alone mode from IRF mode.

Hi all.

I am trying to restore an HP A5500 switch back to stand alone mode from IRF mode.

It is running Comware 5.20.99; output below:

I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to do this, and there does not seem to be an obvious way to achieve this. A factory reset did not restore stand alone mode either.

Any guidance will be gratefully accepted.

Cheers, I doubt configuration guides (or Release Notes) don't show how to reset to factory default configuration such switch series...anyway try connecting via Serial Console and once logged in (use PuTTY) go in system-view mode then execute the command undo password-recovery enable and accept, then quit, save and reboot.

During the Switch rebooting procedure you should enter into EXTENDED BOOT MENU: during the reboot pay attention to access the Extended Boot Menu by pressing Ctrl+B keys when prompted to do so; once into the Extended Boot Menu type 5 to select choice number 5 to restore to factory default configuration and accept.

When restore completes the Extended Boot Menu will display again, type 0 to finally proceed with a reboot: the Switch will reboot into its factory default configuration.

I believe removing IRF configuration will help.
