AIX 5.3 MPIO and MA8000

We are trying to get AIX 5.3 MPIO to work with a MA8000. AIX recognises the LUNS but MPIO does not. Does anybody else have any experience with this?

Ian,

Two things - AIX 5.3 is not yet supported with MA8000, and MPIO is not supported with MA8000.

You would need to use HP's SecurePath software (minimum rev 2.0C)for multipath, if it were supported on AIX 5.3. It's not yet.

Can you use AIX 5.2?

Thanks Vince. It is what I suspected. I will check to see whether we can use AIX 5.2.

AIX 5.2 with the MA8000 is supported with SecurePath v2.0C and either the 2Gbit HBA HP A7539A or the older 1Gbit HBA HP 197819-B21.

I doubt that MPIO will ever be supported on the HSG controller.
