Creating Business Copy

we tried to create business copy by using paircreate.

we noticed that at pairdisplay:
dbgrp6 matrixih15(L) (CL1-J , 1, 6-0)31266 461..P-VOL PSUS,31266 620 W
dbgrp6 matrixih15(R) (CL1-E , 5, 6-0)31266 558..SMPL ----,----- ---- -

why are we getting smpl on the business copy. the rest of our other pairs are S-VOL.

thanks.

Re: Creating Business Copy

Would you have a sample HORCM file? We cannot figure out why pairdisplay states:

dbgrp20 matrixih03(L) (CL1-J , 0, 2-0)31266 449..P-VOL PSUS,31266 467 W
dbgrp20 matrixih03(R) (CL1-E , 4, 2-0)31266 ----..---- ----,----- ---- -

It doesn't seem to recognize taht they are paired. The 2nd entry should have S-VOL status.

Re: Creating Business Copy

paircreate: [EX_ENLDEV] No such LDEV within the RAID

[EX_ENLDEV] No such LDEV within the RAID
[Cause ]:A device mentioned in the configuration file doesn't have a mapping to a real Lun and Target ID within the RAID.
[Action]:Please confirm if the description of 'Port,Target ID,Lun' under HORCM_DEV in the configuration file is correct.

Re: Creating Business Copy

I think we got it now. Thanks.

We did pairsplit -S through remote control. Then ran paircreate at command line changing the port in the horcm file from cl1e to cl2e.

Thanks Michael

Re: Creating Business Copy

Run pairdisplay (pairdisplay -c) to check the correctness of the horcm file.

# pairdisplay -c -g group_name
