Expanding an EVA 4000

Can we expand an EVA 4000 by adding a new enclosure without downtime?

Re: Expanding an EVA 4000

Howdy,
Quick answer - Yes
Longer answer - It depends...

If you have a perfectly normal EVA4000 with 1,2 or 3 enclosures already you *should* be OK to add an enclosure hot.

Make sure you have all your hardware up & working perfectly - no disks on "degraded" loop failure etc.

One loop at a time - let the 1st loop come back OK before unplugging/plugging the second one.

Plenty docs available on http://docs.hp.com or get your reseller to do it for you.

Re: Expanding an EVA 4000

Thank you for your reply. My EVA is an EVA4000 2C1D Array. And we want to add a new disk enclosure.
