You mention 'server', but I think you mean the disk array itself?

Check this post:

Did u mean, "hpw to get MSA serial number?", if so please login to the SMU (GUI)

Select-->Physical-->Enclosure1-->on right side under "enclosure view" you can see mid-plane serial number

in  old model

Monitor-->FRU informatio-->on rightside "configuration serial number"

Adding to what has been shared already:

If you do not have access to GUI i.e. Storage Management Utility but you are able to access CLI via Telnet or a serial conenction.

type show configuration in command prompt or a terminal window, it will show you the Midplane chassis serial number either starting with "2S" or "3C" or "3CL".

Moreover, if you are looking for part information from partsurfer. You may also try this commnad:

show system  which will provide you Product ID of the Storage Unit you have and the parts for the same.

For Eg.: http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=AJ743A

Also, you may refer to quick specs of MSA2000 for detailed information here: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13187_na/13187_na.pdf
