msa 20 connection to 5300 raid controller

can i connect msa20 to 5300 raid controller?
or can i put 6402 raid controller on 8500R server?

The supported controller for the MSA 20 is the 6400 series SAC. The 5300 would not recognize the SATA drives.. The 6400 doesn't even recognize the SATA drives untill you have the most recent fw.

The 6400 controllers are not supported in the 8500 Proliant servers either. You'll need to update to a newer server or just purchase the MSA1500 to control the MSA20. The fibre hba should work with the 8500r.
