MSA500 G2 controller in a MSA1000 enclosure

I have a failed MSA1000 controller and currently have no replacement for it. However I have a spare MSA500 G2 controller. Would this controller work on the MSA1000? Pls advise.

No you cant. For migration from MSA500 to MSA1000, you have to remove the 500 controller and install a 1000 controller.

The question is:

MSA1000 controller failed.
Can it be replaced by MSA500 G2 controller?

Answer is: Yes, it can be replaced, but it will not work.
You might end up with data corruption as well.
So, don't try it.
