Need help - P400 logical drive/volume boot configuration

DL 380 G5
P400 512 BBWC
2x 72 GB SAS (OS onfigured as RAID1 - Logical Array A)
3 x 146 GB SAS

I've got the 2x72 (Bay1&2)configured as RAID 1- Array A, server boots ok, no OS boot issues. When I use the ACU to configure the 3 x 146 as RAID 5, when saved it changes the new RAID 5 to Array A & R1 to Array B the end result I'm unable to boot. In the P400 is their a way to configure the boot order of the logical drive/volume?

It looks like this can't be in the ACU (Smart Start 8.70)

Re: Need help - P400 logical drive/volume boot configuration

Hi,

In BIOS there is a boot order and boot controller order. Maybe in the last one you can configure this.

Quite annoying though when it changes like that though.. what firmware are you running on the P400?

Re: Need help - P400 logical drive/volume boot configuration

Looks like that's the latest then.

What if you create the RAID5 first and then the RAID1?

Re: Need help - P400 logical drive/volume boot configuration

I haven't tried that because I've got my OS installed on the R1, really do not want to reinstall unless theri is no other way to set the boot order.

Re: Need help - P400 logical drive/volume boot configuration

Checked the BIOS & the Boot order IPL shows the IPL 1 - CD ROM, IPL- C: so on. All shows ok I do not see anywhere for the logical array order. Am I missing something?
