P2000 G3 and disks lagrer than 2.2Tb with old firmware

Hi.

I have a P2000 G3 array filled with 3Tb disks. Unfortunately, when configuring this array that last available firmware wasn't installed, so it's seeing the disks as 2.2Tb. I need to recover the space, so I wanna ask - in my opinion, simply installing new firmware will meke this sitiation even worse, because I think that when the disks will 'become' 3Tb instead of the 2.2Tb all of my configured raids will be broken. So I need first to save my data somewhere, then install new firmware, then recreate all of my raids.

Am I right ?

Thanks.
