P400 SATA: removing drive during rebuild process

Hi there,

I'm faced with a slightly unusual situation I'd like input on if someone happens to have the proper information.

We had a failed drive in our P400-controlled array and the dc ops replaced the drive with either a slower speed drive or with a jumper that causes the drive to run at 1.5GBPS instead of 3.0GBPS.

My question is: does anyone know:
* if a drive can be hot-swapped while it currently is rebuilding
* if there are any steps to be taken before doing so if not.

I went through the card's docs (http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01608507/c01608507.pdf) as well as through the management utility docs (http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00729544/c00729544.pdf) but I cannot find something specific enough for my situation for me to feel comfortable proceeding.

Any help and input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Follow up: one of the DC ops knew the operation was safe and proceeded with the hot swap.

All is well.
