I had the same problem few minutes ago.
When a Disk is Replaced HP phone-support ask you for a replace-code, so DISK is the SAME (exactly the same). Hard disk was replaced with a sysadmin support and there is no good reason to know how controller did not start rebuilding.
Also, hpacucli does no support any command to start from command line interface reduild for disk.
My question now is ... how can i do to rebuild a disk far from me 400km and 1 sec from ssh??
