Smart Array 221 with mix SCSI2 (10K) and SCSI3 (15K)

We have a Proliant 1600R with smart array 221 running RAID 5 with 3 SCSI2-9G (10K) drive. We have 3 spare SCSI3-9G (15K) drives and just wonder:

1. Do Smart Array 221 support SCSI3-9G (15K) drive.

2. Can we put them onto the same RAID 5 array as they are not same type of drive and same speed.

Appreciate your advise. KL

Yes you can put them into the same RAID 5 array but will lose the benefit of the faster transfer rates as everything will clock down the match the slower drives.
