Controller Failure

Hi

We have an N Class server with 10 disks in full bus mode on an SC10 with two controllers. One of the controllers has failed 6 times in the last two years. Each time the failure has either been resolved by resetting the power or replacing the controller. The last time it happened I suggested to our [non HP] engineers that they addressed the cause of the problem rather than the symptom. They responded by saying that we shouldn't be using the SC10 in full bus mode, but should switch to split bus mode. I attach the details of the last failure. Any help would be gratefully received.

How are the drives configured?

do you have any sort of raid card?
are you using mirroring on the drives?
how are the SCSI card(s) connected to the SC10?

Hello Joshua. Thanks for replying. The disks are under the control of LVM. Each of the disks has an access path of both C5tndn or c12tndn. They have been added to LVM such that half have c5 as their primary controller (and c12 as their secondary controller) and the other half have c12 as their primary controller (and c5 as their secondary controller). They are not mirrored. The two controllers are basic and non-raid. I have attached an excerpt from ioscan -kfn with the relevant details. Have I answered your questions?
