which one calculate the disk cylinder?
#heads*sectorsize * #sectors
#heads*#tracks*#sectorsize?

Not sure in HP world, but tracks and cylinders are still alive and well in IBM mainframe environments.
Totally dependent upon the disk type.
We calculate calculate thusly -
for a 3390
15 tracks per cylinder
3338 cylinders for a 3390
50070 tracks
While track calculations may not be used extensively in hp-ux, they still are on other platforms.
