Re: updating firmware on FC disks
John,
Firmware updates are now handled through the Business Support Center. Your product is here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=3302267&prodTypeId=329290
I believe you would then go through and select the exact matching drive and there should be instructions to download and install.

Re: updating firmware on FC disks
Hi john,
the latest available is HP05 for those disks, depending upon model number/make
This is available here
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/firmware_patches/hp/disk/PF_DSEAFCHP05.tar.gz
and instructions here also
ftp://ftp.itrc.hp.com/firmware_patches/hp/disk/PF_DSEAFCHP05.txt
Check your model number to see if its needed in the txt file.
I had to do some a few weeks ago and was pretty straight forward. I prefer to make a bootable tape and boot this. The instructions to do this are in the txt file aswell. I did 4 disks and it took about 10mins or so for the update once the server had rebooted to pdc. You have to physically turn the drives off and power them back on for the update to take effect aswell. so it has to be offline and adds more time needed
