CCI intermittent communication problem/check condition

Hello,
I have an HDS 9500V returning a Sense Key "02/9609" to the host HBA (which is a check condition). That sense key should force the HBA to retry the command. However, I do not know how long the retry is taking (according to HDS support, it is 9 seconds and should only be 6 seconds). I need to know two things:

1) Is there a debug setting on the HP HBA to collect more data about when the sense key is received and when the retry occurs
2) Is there a parameter I can change to speed of the retry.
