N800c Display Problems
I've got a n800c, whenever I try to set the display to a resolution other than 800*600 I get vertical black lines on every other column.
The problem occured after I used an Ubuntu LiveCD to get some files off of the hard-drive when WinXP failed. I have tried using Powerstrip to correct the problem, but nothing I do can fix it.
Can anyone help?

Re: N800c Display Problems
Hi Daniel,
I found a lspci of your laptop here :
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showproduct.php?product=1087&sort=8&cat=all&page=1
It looks like your graphics controller is
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500]
I had this controller with SuSE 9.1 and 9.3 few months ago (evo N610c), and it worked up to 1024x768.
I would suggest that you take a copy of /var/log/XFree86.0.log or Xorg.0.log and post it as attached file on this forum.
Good lcuk.

Re: N800c Display Problems
I'm currently using a fresh install of WinXP on the laptop, so unfortunately I can't provide the files.

Re: N800c Display Problems
I think the Ubuntu LiveCD is not well configured for your laptop display (Horiz, Vert, depth...), but I'm not sure.
Could you try another LiveCD ? For example, SuSE.
Good lcuk.
